Battery Info

What you need to know when buying an industrial battery:

Many first-time battery buyers know when they need a new battery, but are unsure of how to tell their battery dealer exactly what they need. The following are a few methods of identifying which replacement battery will work for you:

1) The Make & Model of your Truck

With this method it may also be important to know the physical size of your truck's battery compartment as well as whether or not your truck has a hood that covers your battery.

2) The Model and physical Size of your Battery

The model of your battery is a series of numbers and dashes, sometimes with letters in between. The first number is the number of cells and is an indication of the battery's voltage. Each cell is 2 volts; therefore, if you know that your truck requires a 36V battery, the battery model should begin with the number 18. The physical size of the battery, measured in inches as demonstrated by the photo (LxWxH format) will likely tell your dealer exactly what battery you need. Also, please note whether or not your battery has a cover. (The battery shown has no cover, a battery with a cover would have a metal flap covering the top.)

There are just a few more minor details needed to find the perfect battery for you. Your dealer will need to know the length of cable and connector type needed specifically for your application. This may seem like a lot of information to process, but at Wilson Barrett we are more than happy to help you find all the information you need to keep you moving.
